How Much Should You Spend on Your Wedding?

I recently saw a thread on a forum about people spending tens of thousands of pounds on their wedding. There does seem to be a big move into spending a large amount on one day. To some that’s stupid but to others it’s their dream. How much should you spend on your wedding? Honestly, I believe it should be as cheap or as expensive as you’d like. Okay, so you can’t do it for free, but you don’t need to spends thousands if you don’t want. There are low-cost venue options and you can keep the guest list to the bare minimum. If you don’t want Great-Aunt Dot at your wedding day then there’s no need to invite her (unless of course Great-Aunt Dot is like your mother and is paying for the wedding). We didn’t want to spend a fortune. We had a small budget, with most of it going on the venue and food. We found a cheaper wedding photographer, I got my wedding dress off eBay, and some of the additions were gifts from some of the guests. That being said…if you want to spend...
