The Benefits of Buying a Wedding Dress Online

Considering that my partner and I are looking to keep our wedding budget to a minimum, I took to searching for my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses online. There were many people who warned me against buying over the internet for various reasons but I did it anyway. This is not something that I regret and here are reasons why I decided that buying my wedding dress online was the best option.

Perfect for a Budget Wedding

The main benefit of buying online was that the wedding dress matched the wedding budget. I was able to spend less than £90 on my dream dress. If I’d have decided to get this from a bridal store, I would have had to have it professionally made and it would have cost thousands! Because my partner cannot see my wedding dress before the big day, I cannot put pictures up yet but I will as soon as the day is over.

Will Have it Tailored to Fit Me

One of the big things that people worry about is their wedding dress fitting them, and that is one of the reasons why I was warned against buying my wedding dress online. However, I ended up buying it a size too big so that I could be tailored to fit me. I’ve tried it one since buying and a family friend has agreed that tailoring it to fit me is the best thing and it will not need to be done until the week before the day!

This has also worked out to be better for us since I recently found out that I am pregnant and due two months before our budget wedding. There is no guarantee that I will be the same size as I was when I bought it but I have room to get bigger in the dress by getting it a size too big.

The Perfect Wedding Dress

Like I’ve said, I cannot put pictures up yet but I have found my dream wedding dress. I’ll go into as much detail as I can, since my partner has some idea of the wedding dress style.

I’m a big fan of the Tudor period, especially when it comes to the dresses, and one thing that I wanted was a wedding dress that was similar to Anne Boleyn’s time period. This is something that very few bridal stores will stock and after looking through dress after dress – both online and in store – I soon realised that it looked more like I would have to have it professionally made. Luckily, searching for a wedding dress online meant that I could do a few extra searches and one of those was “gothic wedding dresses”. It meant that I got the perfect wedding dress.
