Involving a colour scheme for a wedding is often more popular then involving a theme. Wedding colour schemes are often much easier to do and more traditional then using wedding themes. The question that many have is the colour that they should use.

Wedding colours are decided in a variety of ways. The first is by using the favourite colour of the bride and groom – as long as the two colours do not clash. This means that both of you enjoy the colours for the day and it is not all one-sided.

Opting for traditional colours when it comes to the wedding colour schemes is an option. However, it is very easy to go overboard with this. Reds and pinks are extremely common due to the link to being romantic colours.

Another option is to link the wedding colours to nationality. This offers a more personal touch to the big day, especially for those who are proud and passionate about their heritage. This is extremely easy to do and could be turned into a wedding theme too.

Using the Colour Scheme

Using wedding colour schemes on the day is very easy. The first – and most common option – is to have bridesmaid dresses in the wedding colours. Some brides will choose one colour dress for all bridesmaids, while others will opt for different colours of the same style depending on the number of colours used in the scheme.

Another option is to place a tissue in the groomsmen’s pockets or opt for ties in the colour of the wedding theme. These are often subtle options that will not overshadow the big day.

It is possible to include the wedding colour schemes from the initial plan. You will need to give out wedding invitations and these can use the colour scheme. Likewise, thank you cards in the wedding theme will keep that going until the very end.

Avoiding Too Much

It is possible to add the colour scheme in too much and this is something that you need to avoid. There is no need to add it to every part of your wedding. This is why it may be worth having a wedding theme as well as a colour scheme to be able to mix and match the two.

You both need to be happy with your choice in wedding colours. The last thing any couple wants to do is look back on photos and wish something was completely different because one member of the couple had more say than the other.

I recently saw a thread on a forum about people spending tens of thousands of pounds on their wedding. There does seem to be a big move into spending a large amount on one day. To some that’s stupid but to others it’s their dream. How much should you spend on your wedding? Honestly, I believe it should be as cheap or as expensive as you’d like.
