Wedding Favour Ideas for All Budgets

Offering wedding favours is a long standing tradition in weddings. They are small thank you gifts for people attending and celebrating your big day. However, trying to find the perfect gift can be difficult, especially if you have a small budget and a large group. Here are some ideas for wedding favours for your guests.

Double Up with Something Else

One thing that we did for our wedding breakfast guests is make the place cards their favours. We bought affordable photo frames and used them to place the names in. They could then be used by the guests afterwards – although we did have to tell them to make sure that they took the photo frames with them.

This is a great way to offer something unique. Your guests will be able to use the favours as a way to place their favourite picture from the day. That is something many of our guests have done.

Candles

Candles make great favour ideas and do not have to cost a fortune. It is possible to buy small scented candles or tea lights and wrap them up in a pretty box. You could even put a small message on the box so people remember where they got the candle from. If you have a colour scheme, consider matching the candle colours to really stand out.

Miniature Alcohol Bottles or Cork Stoppers

These may cost a bit of money but perfect for smaller weddings. These work especially well to be able to personalise the gifts for your guests. Buying alcohol can be tricky as you need to make sure you buy something that people will enjoy and then find out whether they drink. At least cork stoppers can be used for decorative purposes if guests do not drink alcohol.

Small Bags of Sweets

Traditionally, wedding favours were always sugar coated almonds. This is because they were cheap to offer and perfect for large groups. This is still a popular option or you could opt for chocolates or other sweets, if you are worried about nut allergies. There are many places that sell small wedding favour bags. This is something we offered to our evening guests – although we’ve had to send out many with thank you cards since we forgot about them on the night! – and we found the bags on eBay for a very small amount.

There are plenty of wedding favour ideas. Depending on your budget, you could look into personalising gifts to really offer a unique touch. However, there are options for a small budget to help your guests remember your big day for all the right reasons.
